Grooms Guide

My Groom to be, this is a quick reference guide for you to have to answer any questions you have and also to let you know what to expect! It’s not a whole lot, just some tips, tricks and advice to help your day run smoother!

Getting Ready

Location

Depending on the timeline, I usually suggest that we do your getting ready photos at the venue. This makes things a lot easier for timing! Also, if there is anything that you would like for photos of you while getting ready… please tell me! I am all ears. In general, it does not take as long to have your getting ready photos done, and here are some things you can expect to do while getting ready:

-Put on your watch

-Adjust your tie/bowtie

-Have dad or best man help you put on your jacket

-Put on your shoes/tie your shoes

-Help your groomsmen with their jackets, adjust their ties etc.

Photos with your groomsmen

Your bride will likely do some fun getting ready photos with her girls… so why not do something with your groomsmen. These photos can take place either when you are getting ready, during formal photos with your groomsmen or later on in the reception!

-Whiskey/beer Toast

-Card game (getting ready)

-Cigar photos

First Look with your Bride

What you should expect

Hey Groom, don’t stress! Your first look with your bride is a private moment between the two of you. I will come and grab you and get you set in a place that is away from your wedding party and people that are at the venue and then you will turn around and wait until your bride comes down to see you. Don’t worry, I will walk you through the whole process on what do do.. But really it’s a candid moment between the two of you! Hug your bride, tell her she looks amazing- and if you cry, that is okay too.

Bride and Groom Session

This is the fun part- and these photos that we take during y’all’s bride and groom session are the photos that you will likely print out and hang all over your walls. So we definitely want to make sure that we spend some time taking these ones. We will go through a variety of poses that include the two of you looking at the camera, laughing with each other, walking, kissing, spinning and the list can go on and on. The main thing is to have fun, enjoy each others company and be yourselves. I will set you in a pose, but don’t be afraid to add movement into the pose by brushing your brides hair back if it falls in her face, place your hand on her booty, pull her in close… this is for y’all and you want the photos to feel like you. If you are ever unsure what to do with your hands, place them in your pockets and from there, I will guide you on what do to do!
